It was another gloomy Saturday for a wedding, but the rain managed to hold off once again! This past weekend I had the privilege of capturing Priscilla & Anthony exchange vows at Dominion Valley Country Club in Haymarket, VA. Priscilla & Anthony have known each other since they were little kids, with their older sisters being best friends. Priscilla & Anthony’s sisters would joke all the time about how they were meant to be together, & sure enough their jokes ended up being the truth. Now Priscilla & Anthony have become husband and wife, & I am so glad I was able to be there to capture their love story!
I have known Priscilla’s family for many years as I grew up in the same church as her family. Priscilla comes from a large family of ten siblings. Yes. TEN. Her sister, Melody, & I were the same age as we were in the same sunday school classes. We also used to get together & play quite often (I do have some embarrassing pictures to prove that, lol). Being at Anthony & Priscilla’s wedding brought back so many of those memories. I had not seen most of them in roughly 10 years, so it was so nice to see such familiar faces again. It was such a privilege to be a part of their wedding celebration, & we shared so many laughs throughout the day. The bridesmaids even allowed me to photobomb one of their selfies during family formals, lol. There was never a dull moment with this crowd 😉
I just want to make mention of a few things that made me fall in love with this wedding (besides the people of course). This may show how old I am, but this bride & groom reminded me so much of the movie “An Officer and a Gentleman” with Richard Gere. I mean, c’mon! That military uniform! Gah! I couldn’t get enough of Anthony’s hat. Not to mention, the sword exit during the recessional. Everything about this wedding was so romantic, including Priscilla’s GORGEOUS lace gown which had an open back with delicate straps. Just wait until you see her portraits!
Priscilla & Anthony’s first dance blew me away. Not only can they nail a dip kiss, but this couple had some serious ballroom dancing skills. Priscilla looked so graceful as Anthony so effortlessly picked her up & spun her around on the dance floor. The long lace train of her gown followed Anthony’s lead & it was a sight that would truly take your breath away. This couple displayed true class in every way, & their love only added to it. I just can’t believe I get to consider this my “job” to capture such perfection!
The party was alive, & this couple had one of the best DJ’s I had ever seen. A family friend of theirs, Daryl, agreed to drive down all the way from Pennsylvania to host Priscilla & Anthony’s wedding. Daryl was amazing with the crowd, & even got out on the dance floor multiple times to lead with some of the choreography. All of the Nissley girls got out on the dance floor & had their traditional “Sister Dance”, while wrapping up the night with a little Karaoke fun. Priscilla & Anthony’s reception was entertaining to say the least, that I couldn’t help but want to join them on the dance floor 😉 As if the day wasn’t perfect enough, Priscilla & Anthony were then sent off by family & friends with a magical sparkler exit.
Congratulations to the new Mr. & Mrs. Smith!
