I was so excited to finally meet up with Mary & Brian for their engagement session at Blandy Farm this week! We had the most gorgeous weather Tuesday evening for their session, & it felt almost as if it were a fall day. I had such a great time getting to know these two’s love story, while also learning more about their special day. I am so excited to capture their wedding on July 1st at the George Washington Hotel in Winchester, VA.
I was amazed at how easy it was to talk with Mary & Brian before we began their engagement session. We must have spent at least 15 minutes chatting beforehand when it came to our backgrounds, their love story, & their wedding. Come to find out, these two have known each other since they were just young kids! Mary & Brian’s parents are actually close friends & attended school together when they were younger. Their families have been close for many years. It wasn’t until Mary & Brian were in their late teens that they noticed that there may be some chemistry between them. As the years went by they dated other people, however, when Brian learned of Mary & her latest boyfriend’s break up he was quick to make his move. Even with Mary living in North Carolina at the time, Brian was still persistent on giving their relationship a try. Absence really must make the heart grow fonder, bc these two have survived a long distance relationship for quite some time now. Now after being engaged for 2 years, these two will finally be saying “I Do” on July 1st, 2017. I’m sure their families are thrilled since they’re practically like family already!
Just before we were about to get started, Mary made mention that they probably would not be very good at the romantic poses since they were both “silly people”. After her remark, I immediately knew that this was going to be an AWESOME engagement session. I informed Mary that I just wanted them to be themselves, & to have fun! In my opinion some of the best photographs are taken when you aren’t trying to place your couple into a pose. I love it when my couples have the ability to connect on their own, & half the time they don’t even know when I’m capturing it 😉 Mary & Brian were full of laughter, & they brought so much joy to our time together. I can only imagine how fun their wedding day is going to be! By the way, they still nailed those romantic shots!
Here are just some of my favorites from Mary & Brian’s engagement session at Blandy Farm. Stay tuned to see their wedding featured on the blog, come July!
Loving this “rock!”
Coming from someone who said they would not be good at the “romantic shots.” Mary, who are you kidding? I can’t get enough of this one <3 Such a beautiful couple!
