What a beautiful weekend we had celebrating Bryn & Derek’s wedding at the Historic Boydville! It had been a year since I captured a wedding at this beautiful venue, so it was nice to be back once again. It was such a pleasure getting to know Bryn & Derek through this entire process. Due to Bryn & Derek’s fun & laid back nature, it made capturing their special day such a joy! Bryn & Derek, as well as their guests, made me feel like a part of their family. It was truly an honor being able to capture such a beautiful day celebrating two incredible people.
Upon arriving at the Historic Boydville, the day started like any other. Bryn was having the finishing touches put on her makeup, while her 14 bridesmaids were frantically getting ready. Yes, you read correctly. FOURTEEN. I can now say that this is THE largest bridal party that I have ever captured, lol. Some photographers freak out about large bridal parties, but I love large bridal parties! It’s never a dull moment, & usually there’s always one bridesmaid who offers to help me with detail shots 😉 Bryn had an amazing group of girls by her side, & I can honestly say the same for Derek when it came to his groomsmen. Bryn & Derek had such an amazing group of people to stand beside them on the most important day of their lives.
There were so many things about Bryn & Derek’s Historic Boydville wedding that I loved. First and foremost, Bryn & Derek had a beautiful ceremony. Just before Bryn made her grand entrance, she rode up in a vintage car to be escorted out by her father. At this time I turned around to find Derek fighting back tears. When I turned around again, he had the tissues in hand. Tears were streaming down his face, and it was at the point where I had to fight back tears myself! Just before Bryn’s father gave her away, the ceremony started off with Bryn, Derek, & their parents joining hands in prayer. Their pastor, Jacob Atchley, delivered a beautiful message on marriage pertaining to biblical values. The message was a wonderful reminder of how marriage is intended to be carried out. So beautifully done!
One thing that Bryn & Derek did not skimp out on were the details 🙂 200 guests were seated under a beautifully decorated tent off of the back patio. Under the pavilion was a candy apple bar, & directly across the patio was one of the most fun photo booths I had ever seen. If that wasn’t enough entertainment, Bryn & Derek played “The Who Game” which had the guests full of laughter. These two definitely knew how to throw a party, & they ended the night magically with a sparkler exit on the front lawn.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Derek Apple!
