This wedding season so far has been amazing. I’ve had the opportunity of getting to meet and work with so many awesome couples, while also working with other photographers. On weekends where I need to fill my schedule, I’ve had the pleasure of working alongside two talented photographers whom I also call friends. Earlier this year I was connected with Ali of Ali Mclaughlin Photography. I have had the pleasure of working as a 2nd shooter for a few weddings with Ali, & she is such a joy to work with! I was so excited to find out that the first wedding we would work together would be at the beautiful Oxon Hill Manor.
It had been a few years since I captured a wedding at Oxon Hill Manor, so I was beyond thrilled to be back at this picturesque venue. This beautiful venue overlooks the Potomac River, & it has a bridal suite that is to die for. Just how gorgeous is Natalie’s dress?! Baby blue bridesmaid dresses once again! So in love!
Natalie was absolutely stunning!
Aside from capturing some beautiful bridal portraits of Ali, I primarily worked with the groomsmen before the ceremony. While capturing some candid photos of the groomsmen getting ready, I learned that Natalie and Sam would be reading letters to each other beforehand. As I stood in the groomsmen suite, I noticed Sam sit down on the couch with a pen and paper. He was beginning to write his love letter to Natalie, & as discreetly as I could I managed to capture this precious moment in time. These are the genuine moments I love capturing!
I’ll never forget how hot it was outside on that June day! Due to the heat & lighting purposes, we worked so hard to keep Natalie and Sam in the shade during portrait time. Oxon Hill Manor offers so many picturesque locations, so we managed to pull them back out later in the evening once the sun was setting. Natalie & Sam’s love for another was so evident in their portraits! These two were so adorable together!
Natalie definitely did not slack when it came to the gorgeous details of their special day! The reception set up on the back patio echoed class and sophistication, & the vintage furniture added such a romantic touch. I absolutely fell in love with this setting & the ambience that it put off. Simply beautiful!
Just when I thought I had seen it all, there was a big surprise for the evening. You see, Natalie & Sam actually live in Nashville where Sam is a musician. Can you guess where I’m going with this? As a surprise to Natalie, Sam wrote the most beautiful song & performed it for Natalie. I was in tears as I watched Natalie wipe away the tears from her eyes. It was by far one of the most romantic things I had witnessed a groom do for his beautiful bride. Could these two be anymore perfect?
Congratulations to Natalie & Sam!
Special thanks to Ali McLaughlin for having me help her capture such a beautiful occasion.
