It’s safe to admit that technology is pretty amazing these days. Sharing images has become that much easier, with having your images in your possession that much quicker. Since sharing images has become more convenient with the help of technology, one thing often gets overlooked. Can you guess what that is? Your Wedding Album. Often times Wedding Albums get seen as being outdated or not equally as important. I can assure you that a Wedding Album is worth the investment!
Your Photos Should Be Displayed
Let’s put things into perspective for just a moment. It’s probably safe to say that you are investing a good amount of your budget into your wedding photography (as you should be!). Your wedding images are the only thing that you will have to take with you from your special day. Odds are, once you receive your USB or online gallery from your photographer those images are going to be tucked away in a drawer somewhere. Who really wants to dig for that USB just to scroll through hundreds of your images. It’s possible your USB could even get lost in a pile of papers, or let’s face it…buried in the “junk drawer” (you know we all have them, lol). The point is, it’s not convenient! Your photos deserve to be printed in a beautiful album that you can keep displayed on your coffee table or book shelf. This way it is easily accessible for family & friends who may want to relive your special day.
Technology Gets Outdated
As much as we love the convenience of technology, it can also be not so convenient. Remember when cassette tapes came out (now I’m really showing my age), then it turned into CD’s. Now not many people even purchase CD’s because they now have access to music at their fingertips. VHS tapes then turned into DVD’s, which then turned into Blu-Ray DVD’s. You get the point. Technology is always changing, & it is the same with USB’s. When I first started my photography business, I used to deliver a CD-rom disc of their images. Now, most computers/laptops don’t even have cd-rom’s built into them. Technology has once again stepped up to USB’s, and I have a feeling it’s only a matter of time before they become outdated as well. What would ever happen if years down the road, your USB of your wedding images was no longer recognizable? Of course this would most likely be YEARS down the road, but you want to make sure your wedding images are still readily available for years to come. I’m sure your children and grandchildren would love to see them! At least with a wedding album, your images are within easy reach.
Creating a Heirloom
Wedding albums make a great heirloom. The wedding albums that I provide for my clients are hand crafted with the highest quality of materials, to ensure that it lasts you a lifetime. These wedding albums can be passed down to your children, your grandchildren, and so forth. This way your legacy can live on for generations to come, and also make for a great story. I know as I grew up, I always enjoyed looking at my parent’s wedding album- and that was before they made them what they are today!
It Tells Your Story
When you receive your USB or online gallery, it can be a bit overwhelming. Usually you have anywhere between 500-800 images to look through. Although it is nice to have such a variety, it isn’t personal. When you have a wedding album created, that album helps tell the story of your day. You have to think of your wedding album like a story book. You aren’t going to place all 500+ images in your wedding album, but instead you are going to include the highlights. This is what is going to bring your wedding album to life, and help tell your love story. It will also help you remember all of those fine details that you included as part of your special day. Your wedding album will provide the story, making it so your viewer feels like they were a part of your wedding.
Gifting
Last but not least, wedding albums make excellent gifts for family or loved ones. Parent albums are always a great thank you gift to surprise them with, & this way they have a heirloom album for themselves! With my standard wedding package, I do offer an “upgraded package” which includes an album for nearly 50% off the regular price. I am a firm believer in albums, so I always want to make sure to offer them at a discounted price for my brides. Wedding albums can also be ordered at any time.
