What an amazing time we had this past weekend for Chris & Kim’s Washington, DC Engagement Session! Kim & I have been planning & coordinating this engagement session for quite some time, so it was exciting to finally see it come together. When Kim first mentioned that they were going to be wearing formal attire, I just knew their engagement session was going to be sassy & classy! I’m not sure how Chris managed to survive wearing a tuxedo in the 85 degree heat, but these two pulled off an amazing DC Engagement Session.
One reason why Kim & Chris had their hearts set on a DC Engagement Session was due to the fact that it was where they had their first date. Both Kim & Chris lived in various places growing up, but fate brought them together during their college years in Washington, DC. It didn’t make much sense to have their engagement session anywhere else. Washington DC was the perfect location as certain landmarks helped tell their love story.
As we rolled into Washington DC I couldn’t help but notice the ominous storm clouds hovering above the city. I had just checked the weather radar before I left, & it appeared that the storm was going to skirt by us. However the sky was not looking too promising. Kim really loves the architecture of DC, so we decided to make the Jefferson Memorial our first & main location. Upon arrival the sun was in & out of the clouds. I was really hoping for some warm “glowy” light for at least a portion of their session. Luck would have it, that warm “glowy” light appeared. It produced the most romantic lighting for most of our time at the Jefferson Memorial, & as a result those ended up being some of my favorite images from our time together. Might I also add, Kim & Chris performed the perfect “dip kiss” shot…and on the first try! These two made it so easy to photograph, & I genuinely enjoyed laughing with them while getting to know their story.
Here are some of my favorites from Chris & Kim’s DC Engagement Session.
