One thing is for certain, & that’s the fact that this has been such a rainy season! I feel like the rain has been such a threat to getting my client’s engagement sessions underway. Luckily for Ana & Michael, we were still able to pull off yet another successful engagement session at Doukenie Winery. It’s a good thing too, because this couple will be tying the knot in just ONE month! Isn’t it crazy to think that September is right around the corner?
I must say that so many of my clients request to have their sessions take place at Doukenie Winery. It’s hard to not go wrong photographing anywhere in Loudoun County, but this little Virginia winery has such charm. After coming across one of my blog posts from a previous engagement session, Ana insisted that they have their own engagement session at Doukenie Winery. The water, the greenery, the vines, & the isolated atmosphere makes Doukenie simply charming.
Although it did try to sprinkle rain on us during Ana & Michael’s engagement session, it did not seem to last long. The rain was over just as fast as it started. Due to the overcast sky we had the most beautiful soft lighting during their portraits. The tree line along the water is one of my favorite locations to photograph at Doukenie Winery, & I found that is where most of their images came to life. Ana & Michael’s chemistry in front of the camera was simply undeniable, & I had such a great time laughing with these two. I must admit, I’ve been making a point this year to make posing a little more interactive & fun for my clients. What a big difference that has made when it comes to capturing genuine emotion, while also providing my couples with some entertainment & fun. I think it’s safe to say that we had a good time 😉
Here are just some of my favorite images from Michael & Ana’s Doukenie Winery engagement session. “Thank you for stopping by! If you are engaged & would like to learn more information regarding my Wedding Experience, you can contact me here!”
