What a way to kick off the 2019 wedding season! Rachel & Allen tied the knot at the beautiful Fauquier Springs Country Club out of Warrenton, Virginia this past weekend. Let me just say that everything about this wedding was unique, including this adorable couple who made the most of their special day despite the weather. I did hear that rain on your wedding day brings good luck. Let’s just say that they received a lot of good luck on their special day…

I’m so glad that Rachel & Allen decided to share a “first look” on their wedding day. Since we were able to capture all of their portraits before the ceremony, we were still able to capture the most beautiful portraits in the most desireable locations before Mother Nature decided to make other plans. While finishing up their portraits, Rachel & Allen made a last minute decision to go ahead and proceed with their wedding ceremony outside. Since they desired an outdoor ceremony so badly they decided it was worth the risk.

As guests were seated it started spitting rain drops. Umbrellas took over as guests huddled together to stay dry & warm. With just a few minutes into their wedding ceremony, the rain began to pour. We aren’t talking about a light drizzle, but a torrential down pour. Despite the circumstances, Rachel & Allen stood amongst their guests & friends with smiles on their faces. It may not have been the most ideal situation, but it definitely made for some amazing images that they can hold onto forever. Memories were definitely made, and this was one wedding ceremony that I’m sure no one who attended will forget. It was definitely one for the books, & I realized that it is possible to capture a wedding with an umbrella in one hand & a camera in the other, lol. I loved how Rachel & Allen ran in the rain after being pronounced as husband & wife. It made their images romantic & fun all at the same time, which will be a fun story for the kids & grandkids some day 😉

Rachel & Allen’s wedding at Fauquier Springs Country Club was one that was filled with laughter & joy. It was one of those weddings that made it so much fun to capture the candid moments, the tender moments, & the real moments. Everytime I saw Rachel smile at her groom, it made me smile. It made me smile knowing that even in the rain, Rachel & Allen did not lose sight of each other. I’d say this was a true testament of their love for one another. I could go on about how amazing Rachel & Allen are as a couple, but for now I will leave you with some of the highlights from their special day.

Congratulations Rachel & Allen! I hope you never stop traveling & exploring new places & things together. I’m seriously jealous of your awesome adventures, lol. I wish you both nothing but the very best! Now go enjoy this little thing they call marriage 😉
