I will never forget waking up that morning, looking outside & being so disappointed in the weather I was seeing. As far as I knew, it was supposed to be a beautiful day with *maybe* a chance of a thunderstorm that evening. Needless to say, it not only rained but it POURED the entire first half of the day. Not only if this every Bride’s worst nightmare (especially if you’re having an outdoor wedding), but it’s also a photographer’s worst nightmare bc now you are faced with having only the indoors to work with…& us photographers love having that natural light!

Upon arriving at The Regency at Dominion Valley, Alexis was still hopeful to have the ceremony outside. The staff had moved the chairs underneath a balcony outside, but needless to say it was definitely cramped :-/ It was 30 min before the ceremony, & sure enough the rain continued to hold off. Long story short, not only did Alexis & Cody get to have their ceremony outside, but we also managed to capture ALL of the photos outside as well! I would not have thought this possible at the beginning of the day.

Between the goofy socks & the stylish shades, this Bridal Party knew how to have a good time & put on a good party. Despite the gloomy weather & the wet conditions, this crowd did not let that put a “damper” on the mood (no pun intended). There were so many special moments from when the Bride & Groom exchanged letters, to the emotional speeches/toasts at the reception. Then you had the unexpected yet hilarious moments like when they groomsmen revealed their goofy socks that they sported underneath their dress slacks. Needless to say this was a fun group, & one that I thoroughly enjoyed working with! Following the ceremony there was food, drinks, polaroids, selfies, toasts, & dancing which then led  to a sparkler exit to send the newlyweds off.

Alexis & Cody, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. I wish you two nothing but the best as you begin your journey as husband & wife!
