I had so much fun with the Farrell Family this past weekend at Blandy Farm! Meet Lacey, Brandon, & their two adorable babies Elijah & Everleigh. My husband & I met Lacey & Brandon a few years back at church, except back then it was just the two of them-no babies yet! It was such a pleasure seeing the Farrells again, but what made it even more fun was being able to meet their newest addition, little Miss Everleigh, who just turned a year old!

People will probably think I am crazy for saying this, but I LOVE capturing family sessions when it involves little kids. Of course it can be challenging as we all know kid’s tend to hate having their picture taken, plus their patience seems to run out just a few minutes in, lol. However for me, that’s when the session comes to life. You start with your posed photos first to ensure you get at least one good family portrait for “the wall”, lol, then if the kids start getting antsy that’s when you capture what unfolds on it’s own. This is when I LOVE being the paparazzi for the remainder of the session. We were able to get so many priceless, candid shots of the Farrell Family with some of our silly/goofy poses being some of my favorites. I loved it when Elijah kept throwing leaves right over top of Everleigh, lol, or while playing when Brandon just calmly and unexpectedly placed an oversized leaf on Everleigh’s head (poor Everleigh!), & lastly one of my favorites is when they’re sitting on the bench & Elijah is cracking up at Everleigh bc she’s sliding down on Mommy’s lap and appears to be stuck-lol. These are the true family moments I long to capture! I couldn’t help but laugh while editing some of these, but I love how many genuine moments we had during this family session.
