What an amazing day we had at Fauquier Springs Country Club for Andrew & Lauren’s wedding! It may not have been the prettiest fall day, & even though we had to move the ceremony inside we still managed to get ALL of our pictures outside! What started out as a rainy mist slowly began to clear, & although we took most of our pictures out in the parking lot we still made it work 😉 This group was so much fun to work with, & not even the damp weather could ruin the mood of this crowd.
Two things you should know about this wedding: Number 1, the wedding colors were of Andrew’s choice. You see, Andrew is originally from Minnesota therefore he is a Vikings fan (like my husband, which is why I get such a kick out of this). Andrew insisted their wedding colors be purple & yellow, so Lauren decided to choose her battles wisely, & she agreed to it. I told Lauren she’s already learning early the rules on how to compromise, lol. And wouldn’t you know it? When I showed up Andrew came wearing a Vikings t-shirt!
Number 2, Lauren’s wedding dress came all the way from London, England! How awesome is that? Lauren & her sister, Kristen, went to visit their parents in London & while they were there they went shopping for Lauren’s wedding gown. Sure enough, Lauren was taking her wedding dress home with her to Virginia on the plane. And let me tell you, her dress was absolutely STUNNING!
Andrew & Lauren’s day was filled with such warmth & laughter. I just loved the sense of humor within this group (yes, even the guys being their crazy selves). Between the drinks, the laughs, the music, the cigars, the shots, the dancing, & me walking directly into someone’s drink while taking pictures, lol, it was definitely a fun wedding to witness and capture. Even during the reception, the waiters/waitresses were doing the cupid shuffle out in the hallway which made for a good laugh. My favorite part you may ask? Capturing those candid, in-between moments that speak even more volume than the posed portraits that we work so hard at. It’s the candid moments that essentially capture the essence of the day, & I felt I was able to do just that. You can see the love that Lauren & Andrew have for one another, as well as the love they have from their family & friends.
Andrew & Lauren, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day. I wish you two the best as you begin this journey as husband and wife!
*Special thanks to my 2nd shooter, Sean Pullen, for capturing the photos of the guys as well as being my 2nd set of eyes for the day. He is truly awesome at what he does!
ENJOY!
