It’s been a crazy month for my business, but what an amazing way to wrap up the month of October with Ashley & Tyler’s Orchard View Farm Wedding! The week prior we had such cold & windy weather, but this weekend for Ashley & Tyler’s celebration it was absolutely gorgeous. You could not have asked for a better day, as the ceremony was held outside under a beautifully decorated arbor that Tyler made himself! There were so many things about this wedding that made it unique & memorable, & it was such an honor for me to be able to take part in their special day.
The day started out with the girls getting ready at Tyler’s parents house. Luck would have it, Tyler’s parent’s house was right down the street from the venue. The house was filled with women running back and forth frantically trying to get ready, while I did everything I could to try & stay out of the way to capture detail shots, lol That’s not always easy when you have bags of camera gear, including a flash stand with a giant umbrella attached- but I made it work! The girls were so easy going, & they made me feel right at home 🙂
Upon arriving at the venue, it was beautifully decorated with all of the personalized rustic details. A large white tent was set up to accommodate 200 guests for dinner, while the barn was beautifully decorated for a night of dancing. The ceremony took place just outside the barn, with some of the most unique decor I’ve ever seen. Not to mention, Tyler made the arbor that he & Ashley exchanged vows under which was absolutely GORGEOUS! There were so many final touches that made this wedding so uniquely beautiful. The love that surrounded Ashley & Tyler was just the icing on the cake. It was amazing being able to witness and capture the genuine, heartfelt emotion that was expressed for these two-especially in those moments right after they became husband & wife. As much as I love those “pretty posed” photos, I thrive off of capturing those candid moments that they don’t expect you to see!
So what is one thing that makes this wedding memorable? THE COWS. We decided to go on the other side of the fence, into the cow pasture to take the Bridal Party photos. Little did we know just how much we would have to dodge cow pies, lol, and little did I know that I would be fighting with cows for my space! I found myself working with a herd of cows staring me down, 5 feet away. It was pretty comical to say the least (you will see an example of this later-it was too funny not to add to this blog post). Luckily, I didn’t get attacked by any cows. I actually wish I could have incorporated one into a group shot just because that’s how my sense of humor works 😉
Last but not least we moved onto our Bride and Groom portraits. I just have to say these were some of my favorites from this year. Besides having such a beautiful couple to work with, the combination of the Fall light & the orange leaves that we still had on the trees had me drooling behind my lens, lol. Ashley & Tyler rocked these images, & they made every pose look so natural. After an amazing portrait session, we headed to the barn for introductions, an amazing dinner which was provided by Top Flight BBQ, and one heck of a party which was provided by Chuck Carroll with Ace Entertainment. This was such a fun group to hang out with and capture! The party was supposed to end at 11pm, but rumor had it the party went on until 12 or 1 o’clock in the morning. It was definitely one energetic crowd that did not want the dance party to end!
Ashley & Tyler, thank you so much for inviting me to take part in your wedding celebration. I had so much fun celebrating with you, while capturing such incredible memories! I wish you the best as you start this journey as Husband & Wife. I hope you guys have an AMAZING honeymoon in Hawaii- you deserve it!
*Special thanks to my 2nd shooter, Sean Pullen, for capturing the photos of the guys as well as various angles throughout the day. Also props to Sean for capturing the behind the scenes “cow pictures” 😉 Always makes for a good laugh!
ENJOY!
