I think it’s safe to say that Spring is officially here to stay! We had yet another beautiful day this past Saturday for Cris & Lindsay’s wedding at The Harvest House at Lost Creek Winery in Leesburg, VA. With 60 degree temps, a tiny hint of cherry blossoms, & some of the prettiest blue skies you could ever see you just couldn’t have asked for a better day to say “I Do!”
As soon as I arrived, I was greeted with such warmth by Lindsay’s family & friends. I then began capturing detail shots where I took Lindsay’s dress downstairs to the beautiful entry way of the Harvest House Of course I peeked into Cris’ room first to make sure he knew not to come downstairs. As I opened the door, there was Cris’ mom sitting next to him as she said she was holding him hostage, lol. This was perfect as it allowed my 2nd shooter, Anna, & I to work freely with Lindsay’s dress without any worry.
Making my way upstairs to the Bridal suite Lindsay began getting ready. I could tell her nerves were starting to kick in, but even then she was the most calm bride I had ever seen. Lindsay & Cris were then ready to share their “first look” behind the Harvest House. Following their “first look”, we went right into portrait time. Because of the time of day, the bright sun made it a bit challenging when it came to finding the right kind of light for portraits (plus, there was no shade hardly anywhere!)- but we made it work! I was laughing at myself bc I would manage to find 1-2 feet of shade somewhere & place Cris & Lindsay directly in it. I’m sure it may have looked rather silly, but I’ve learned that you do what it takes to get the best shots 😉 Might I add Cris & Lindsay had such a fun & laid back demeanor about them, that they made my job so much easier! I had so much fun hanging out with this adorable couple!
A small & intimate ceremony followed amongst family & friends. The Harvest House created a lovely back drop for their ceremony, while Lindsay’s mom made the beautiful large lanterns which added a nice touch for the decor. After being pronounced husband & wife, guests waited in line into the Harvest House to greet the family as well as the bride and groom. Cocktail hour took place on the back patio where drinks & horderves were served. Many hugs & laughs were shared as the guests mingled with the bride and groom. It was a very joyous & warm celebration that was such an honor to capture.
Lindsay & Cris, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day! I wish you the best as you start this crazy journey as husband and wife 😉
Enjoy!
*Special thanks to my assistant/2nd shooter, Anna, for capturing a variety of photos alongside me throughout the day!
