Let's connect!

I had my first double wedding weekend with Nick & Laura’s being the first to kick off at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club this past Friday. This is a gorgeous venue, but Shenandoah Valley Golf Club is especially beautiful in the fall. To top it all off we had such a beautiful day, & the most gorgeous lighting for portraits! There is nothing like a fall wedding in the valley.

Once I arrived, I started the day by doing my favorite thing. Capturing all of the pretty details. I fell in love with Laura’s lace wedding gown, & it fit Laura like a glove. As soon as Laura stepped into her gown, she echoed class and sophistication.  I also fell in love with her auburn hair, and the string of pearls that she displayed. Laura had such genuine warmth about her, & a contagious smile that my camera kept being drawn to.

Laura & Nick are the perfect match for one another. It did not take long for me to realize that, especially during their portrait time. Their sarcastic sense of humor (mostly Nick’s), and playful demeanor made portrait time so laid back and so much FUN. I can’t remember the last time I laughed that much with one of my wedding couples. Nick always came up with the most random and witty remarks, while Laura either responded with laughter or chimed in with him. Again, these two are perfect for one another.

For those of you who are wondering why Fall has now become the new popular season for weddings…you are about to see why. There is nothing like a beautiful fall back drop for your wedding portraits, & hopefully this blog post will show you why 😉 Laura & Nick’s portrait session had me swooning. As we walked outside the venue, we noticed there wasn’t too much color on the trees. I was determined to find that perfect light and those beautiful fall colors. As we walked a little bit further, we noticed ONE tree on the other side of the golf course that had the most beautiful fall foliage. I am so thankful that they were willing to walk a little ways, because this location was completely worth it! Needless to say, we made the most out of that location and captured a variety of portraits. Laura even asked if we could take some extra bridal portraits of her there, & of course I agreed! It was the perfect way to wrap up their portrait time, & I can’t wait to share them with you.

Laura & Nick, thank you so much for trusting in me to capture your special day. I genuinely had so much fun celebrating with you on your special day, & I wish you the best as you start this journey as husband and wife.

Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Caton!

You have no idea how amazing it felt to pick my camera up again since COVID19. I was so glad that we were able to capture their family photos before their son, Kenny, […]

I can never stress enough to my clients how important it is for them to fully trust their wedding photographer. One key part of trusting your wedding photographer is acquiring the confidence in their decision making for your portrait locations. Some may question, what exactly do you mean by this? It should be pretty simple, […]

If Alex & Scott’s wedding at 48 Fields is even the slightest preview for what my 2020 wedding season is going to look like, it’s going to be pretty hard to top this year.
