Here it is! The Best of 2017 Weddings and Engagements. After capturing 25 weddings this year and 26 sessions, I can say that I successfully closed out the year. I always love these blog posts because it gives me a chance to reflect back on my favorite moments of 2017. However, it’s also bittersweet because I’m always sad to say goodbye to such an amazing year. So let’s recap just a bit, shall we?
This was my first year where my wedding season started earlier, & carried later than usual (which is a good thing!). My first wedding was for Lorri & Brad at the Historic Jordan Springs which took place at the tail end of March. It was definitely a great way to kick off my wedding season because we had a beautiful 70 degree weather day! I will never forget how unusual it was for that time of year. Not to mention, Lorri & Brad were so much fun to work with. During the reception, Lorri shared a father/daughter dance that I will never forget. I will refrain from going through every single wedding that I captured, but I would like to share some of the highlights that helped make this year one of a kind…
Towards the beginning of my wedding season, I got to capture my hair and makeup gal’s wedding (Tiffany with TDR Artistry-she’s amazing!). I was able to capture weddings at new venues this year, while also revisiting one of my favorite venues. I captured a wedding for a childhood friend, I experienced capturing a wedding that turned out to be like my high school reunion, I captured a wedding on the lake (because anyone who knows me knows that I love the lake life), I was able to capture some of the most epic sparkler exits to date, I got to capture a wedding back in my hometown, I captured my very first bride and groom portrait session in the DARK. Yes, I had to capture ALL of their portraits in the dark (thank God for off camera flash). I witnessed a surprise tango dance by the bride and groom, I witnessed a surprise proposal during a bouquet toss, met the pop singer, Kesha’s, brother who was the videographer at a wedding (random, right?), captured my very first Vietnamese Tea Ceremony, & experienced a really cool confetti exit during the recessional of a wedding. I also had the privilege of meeting a new photographer this year, Ali McLaughlin of Ali McLaughlin Photography. I had the pleasure of working alongside her numerous times this year, & I now consider her a friend. And most of all, I got to meet some incredible people along the way. These are just some of the highlights that made 2017 a very unique and fun year. I also have to add that I have THE best clients!
Thank You…
Thank you so much to my clients, past and present for making Brooke Danielle Photography what it is today. Special thank you goes out to Brittany Massey for helping me with 90% of all my weddings this year- she is not only my dear friend, but a very talented photographer who has been my lifesaver & a joy to work with! Last but not least I have to say thank you to my husband, Jamie, for holding down the fort with our daughter on all of those long Saturdays and occasional week nights. Thank you everyone for all of your support. It means the world to me 😉
Now enjoy some of the best images from 2017!
And that’s a wrap!
