This past weekend I got to switch gears a bit & capture senior portraits for Kenny in downtown Warrenton, VA. I have known Kenny & his family since he was just 4 years old when they became our new neighbors while living in Nokesville. It felt so surreal taking his portraits, as I still remember him as being this goofy little kid, lol. It also wasn’t too long ago that I captured senior portraits for his sister, Shelby, so it was really neat to be able to do the same for Kenny.

Luck would have it, rain was in the forecast for Kenny’s senior portraits. It had rained pretty hard earlier in the day, & we questioned if we should reschedule. After studying the weather radar, we decided to give it a try. It did mist rain for most of our time together, but at least it wasn’t a complete washout. Luckily with Kenny we didn’t have to worry about hair or makeup getting messed up, lol, otherwise I would have definitely rescheduled. Needless to say Kenny was a great sport & his parents provided great entertainment in order to get him to crack a smile (at least I thought so, lol)

My favorite part of Kenny’s portrait time was when he discovered a guitar shop, “Drum & Strum”, off of main street. What I did not realize was that Kenny had a passion for playing. When I saw his face light up at the sight of the store, I knew what we had to do. After hitting a couple key spots for portraits downtown, we made a visit inside the guitar shop. Inside displayed a wall full of guitars, where Kenny carefully selected one to play. As he sat down to strum on the strings, I saw his personality shine through. I have to say that these were some of my favorite images from Kenny’s session, as the excitement was written all over his face. Might I add that Kenny is quite the natural at playing guitar.

Kenny, I wish you the best as you start senior year as well as the next exciting chapter of your life.
