I had the best time with Julie & Mike capturing their joyous union at Old House Vineyards this past weekend. Despite the unbearable August heat, these two had the best time celebrating with family & friends during their intimate wedding celebration. Julie & Mike chose Old House Vineyards for it’s scenic grounds & gorgeous ceremony site. I always said that this Virginia wedding venue was one of a kind. It was so nice visiting this hidden gem again, with some of the best company!
From the moment we captured Julie & Mike’s Washington D.C. engagement session, I knew these two were going to be the absolute best to work with (to see their engagement session, click here!) Even with the unexpected rain during Julie & Mike’s engagement session, these two were laughing the entire time. There was nothing that could get their spirits down & they simply made the best of the situation. This was no different when it came to Julie & Mike’s wedding at Old House Vineyards. We had the most unbearable heat to work in, & these two were smiling the entire time. I loved this couple’s sense of humor & the chemistry it resulted with in front of the camera. I also learned how much of a romantic Mike is, as he loves playing Frank Sinatra music while dancing with Julie at random times (we even incorporated this during some of their portrait time!). It really added a sweet touch to wrap up their portrait time.
One thing Julie & Mike really desired for their wedding was to have quality time to mingle with their family & guests. They were surrounded with so much love, & had the best time dancing the night away. With a more relaxed atmosphere, the couple enjoyed hearing a couple of toasts from their Best Man (Dennis) and Maid of Honor (Tanya) while spending the rest of their evening dancing & enjoying drinks. We even managed to get an epic group photo on the dance floor to wrap up the night. Everything about Julie & Mike’s celebration was joyous & memorable. I know I certainly had enough laughs that carried into the night. I think it’s safe to say that it’s never a dull moment with Julie & Mike. Might I add, aren’t they the most beautiful couple?!
Congratulations Mr. & Mrs. Mike Rotch! Your day was a beautiful representation of you who are as a couple. Best wishes to you both!
