As a Virginia Wedding Photographer, I can honestly say that Emily & Matt’s wedding was full of surprises- especially when it came to the weather! I guess I shouldn’t be surprised seeing that Northern Virginia’s weather can be quite unpredictable. This “Spring” wedding started out with snow flurries, ice, & a major hail storm that whipped through just hours before their wedding portraits. Emily & Matthew’s wedding day had gusty winds which resulted in freezing temps, but luckily the weather stayed dry for Emily & Matt’s first look, as well as their bride and groom portraits. The sun even decided to make an appearance which certainly helped!

This spring wedding included one of my favorite color palettes- sage, blush, cream, & gold. Not to mention the bride & bridesmaid bouquets were some of the most stunning I’ve seen, thanks to JP Wedding Flowers! Emily made the most romantic bride with her stunning baby blues, & her classic wedding attire. I could have taken bridal portraits of Emily all day.

Emily & Matthew shared a intimate first look outside Bristow Manor house. After their big reveal, they exchanged vows privately concluding with a warm embrace. It was a beautiful moment captured, & although it was freezing cold (thanks, 30mph wind gusts!) these two managed to pull off the most stunning portraits. Towards the end the sun decided to make an appearance which allowed us to get a handful of portraits during golden hour, which is always a plus! Emily & Matthew were absolutely stunning together, & their chemistry was evident especially when you saw the way that Matthew gazed at her.

One thing I love as a Virginia Wedding Photographer are the different people I have the privilege of meeting & working with. Emily & Matthew had the best group of family & friends surrounding them on their special day. Not only was the energy high, but I had such a great time laughing with Emily’s bridesmaids throughout the day. Capturing weddings is certainly a passion of mine for many reasons, but when you have the privilege of being able to work with such amazing, fun people it makes it that more rewarding. Emily & Matthew’s special day was certainly one for the books!
