Yet another WVU couple has tied the knot this month! You would think I lived in West Virginia or something 😉 However unlike my last wedding where my couple tied the knot in Morgantown, Jennifer & Chad decided to say their I Do’s back in their hometown of Martinsburg, WV. It was a beautiful, but very HOT & muggy day! Luckily, the ceremony & reception were both indoors 😉
Jennifer & Chad exchanged vows at the Full Gospel Pentecostal Church in Martinsburg, WV. Unlike when you have a country club or vineyard wedding, you always worry about finding those picturesque locations while capturing a wedding at a church. Much to my surprise, the grounds to this little country church was so quaint & beautiful! Might I add, LOTS OF SHADE! LoL. The grounds made for some stunning portraits of Jennifer & Chad. Even though it was a 90+ degree day, the shaded trees and the added slight breeze made it somewhat bearable. I’m just so glad they were willing to work with me to be outside!
A beautiful ceremony followed as Jennifer & Chad exchanged vows amongst family & friends. I know ceremonies can be a stressful part of the day to capture, but I find that I really enjoy them. It’s not only the pure joy of being able to see the groom’s face when his Bride walks down the aisle, but it’s watching the bride & groom’s parents in that moment that can be very moving. So much emotion was expressed for Jennifer & Chad, & you knew they were surrounded by people who genuinely cared & loved them.
To celebrate the new Mr. & Mrs. Chad White, we headed over to the The Holiday Inn located in Martinsburg, WV. It was an amazing celebration which started with an emotional toast by the Groom’s father, a more comical toast by the maid of honor & best man, a hilarious round of the newlywed “shoe game” (which I actually played at my own wedding!), & a “chair” made by the bridal party for the garter removal- something I’ve never seen before! All I can say to that is, Jennifer, you are very brave! Needless to say this reception was full of laughter which had everyone on the edge of their seats.
Jennifer & Chad, thank you so much for allowing me to take part in your special day! It was so much fun being able to meet your family & friends all while witnessing such a special union between the two of you. I wish you the very best as you start this crazy journey as husband & wife!
*Special thanks to my 2nd shooter/assistant Hannah Adams for capturing photos of the groom/groomsmen while also capturing various angles throughout the day! She was such a huge help to me!
Congrats! 🙂
