I was so excited to meet this adorable couple for their engagement session at the State Arboretum of Virginia this past weekend. When I first spoke with Erin during our initial consultation, we immediately hit it off due to our love for the Redskins and our love for mexican food! I loved Erin’s bubbly personality, so I was so excited when she decided to book my services for her & Kendall’s 2018 wedding. Not to mention, I love the Inn at Willow Grove which is where Erin & Kendall will be exchanging vows come March 2018!
Towards the beginning of that week, Erin emailed me with concerns about the weather forecast for their engagement session. We had their session scheduled for quite some time, & we knew rescheduling would be tricky. Agreeing to play it by ear, we checked the weather forecast religiously. As of the morning of their engagement session, it was only calling for 20% chance of rain that evening. Luck would have it, as we were heading to the State Arboretum of Virginia it started to rain. I also felt bad for my fellow photographers, bc I knew they had mini sessions scheduled for that day. The weather certainly was not kind to us!
Once we arrived, I was so happy to see a smile on Erin’s face despite the rain lol. Erin & Kendall had such a positive attitude despite the unfortunate circumstances. Luckily the State Arboretum of Virginia has a covered patio out back, & I knew it would provide some beautiful light! The entire time it rained, we were still able to be productive with a pretty space! After about 15 minutes the rain cleared just enough for us to move outside. I am SO glad we were able to capture more variety, because the leaves on the trees were GORGEOUS. Major props to Erin & Kendall on their outfit choices, as it complimented the scenery around them so nicely. Did I ever mention how much I love the fall? There is nothing like fall in the valley, & these two were absolutely stunning together.
