This past weekend I wrapped up my last wedding of the year celebrating Kevin & Julie at the beautiful Shenandoah Valley Golf Club. I cannot believe that this wedding season has already come to a close! I had such an amazing year, so it was only fitting to end it with such an amazing couple. Kevin & Julie were the sweetest couple, as well as their family & loved ones. It was truly an honor to be a part of their special day.
We were watching the weather forecast religiously that week, praying that mother nature would be kind to us. Initially they were calling for rain, but luckily it just remained cloudy for Julie & Kevin’s day. However, it was definitely cold! I felt so bad for the ladies in their strapless gowns, but I never would have known that it bothered them. The entire wedding party toughed it out with me to ensure we got some great portraits (even the kiddos!)
Julie & Kevin shared a “First Look” since they were having a later ceremony time. Since we turned the clocks back, we had to make sure we captured their portraits before the sun went down. As crazy as it is, there was still some color on the trees even in the middle of November! Fall back drops are absolutely gorgeous, so I made sure to place Julie & Kevin wherever the slightest bit of color was 😉 Did I ever mention how much I love fall weddings in the valley?
Julie & Kevin exchanged vows inside of a beautiful church in downtown Strasburg, VA. Stained glass surrounded them, and the pews were beautifully decorated with florals. As Julie made her grand entrance towards Kevin, her eyes instantly lit up. The closer Julie moved to the alter, the more she was fighting back tears. 200 guests witnessed this union, as Kevin’s own father helped officiate the ceremony.
Julie & Kevin’s day continued at Shenandoah Valley Golf Club, where they had a live band perform. It was definitely a lively crowd, & the Hipshack Band did not disappoint! A comical event took place when Kevin did a special dance to Julie to the song “Son of A Preacher Man” (since Kevin is a preacher’s son). The Best Man, Robert, also gave Julie some helpful insight on how to live with Kevin, lol. The entire night was filled with surprises, laughter, and dancing. I do not recall the dance floor being empty at any point during the night. If you didn’t think the night was magical enough, these two had a magical sparkler exit with some of THE largest sparklers I’d ever seen!
Julie & Kevin, thank you so much for allowing me to be a part of your special day. It was such a pleasure getting to know the both of you, as well as meeting your family & friends. Thanks for making my last wedding of the year such a blast! I hope you have an amazing honeymoon in St. Lucia!
