What a lovely evening we had in downtown Alexandria for Lauren & Josh’s couple’s session. It’s been 4 years since I captured this adorable couple’s wedding in Morgantown, WV. How does time slip by so fast? As a Virginia wedding photographer, I am always so excited to hear from my former wedding couples months or even years down the road. In this instance, Lauren reached out to me through text & her exact words were “I just realized we haven’t had any professional photos taken since our wedding! Can we schedule a session?” Of course I was thrilled with this idea! Who says you have to be engaged to have romantic portraits taken?
It was a beautiful evening in downtown Alexandria, & this is one of my absolute favorite downtown locations to capture portraits in. This quaint little town on the waterfront has so much to offer when it comes to it’s views, architecture, & charm. Everywhere you turn there is a picturesque location, & we just happened to luck out with the most beautiful golden light! Lauren & Josh looked absolutely stunning in their chosen attire, & I would have to say that my camera loved them. My only disappointment with this session was the simple fact that we could not use the gardens behind the Carlyle House, as there was a wedding being held that evening. However with all of the variety that downtown Alexandria provides we did not have any problem finding alternative locations.
Here are some of my favorites from Lauren & Josh’s downtown Alexandria portrait session. It was so tough deciding which ones to share, but I’d say that’s a good problem to have 😉
Wrapping up this blog post with a little story, Lauren & Josh decided to incorporate something a little different towards the end of their session. I think the image says it all, but this power couple just paid off $300,000 worth of debt in 4 years! Hey, that’s practically a mortgage! I am so impressed with their dedication & hard work to accomplish their goals in order to get where they are today. If you want to learn more about their strategy, be sure to check out Josh’s page here, Life, Money, Wax . Pretty awesome stuff!
