This past weekend I had the pleasure of meeting with Cameron & Mark for their sunrise engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial in Washington, D.C. Unfortunately we had mostly cloudy skies, but the sun decided to peak out towards the end of their engagement session giving us some gorgeous, glowy light! Regardless you can never go wrong with using the Lincoln Memorial for engagement photos. The architecture alone gives off a very sophisticated & romantic feel, & that certainly speaks my love language!
From the moment I initially spoke with Cameron & Mark over the phone, I instantly fell in love with their story. City boy meets small town girl while she was working on the job, & the rest was history. Mark later proposed to Cameron on Christmas day while they were in their Christmas jammies! He even had them serenaded with violinists out front Cameron’s home with a photographer ready to capture the moment. I teased with Cameron & Mark that they should have worn their Christmas pajamas to their engagement session since it was at sunrise, but I think the attire they decided upon was more fitting 😉 Even with meeting at 6:15am to start taking their engagement photos at the Lincoln, Cameron & Mark were in such high spirits. I loved this couple’s sense of humor & their willingness to attempt some of my crazy ideas (like “running” in heels- you rocked it, Cameron!).
Once we finished up at the Lincoln Memorial, we changed outfits & headed over to Constitution Gardens. This is when the sun decided to make an appearance & gave us some gorgeous magical light! I was loving everything about this location when it came to the light, the composition, & the romantic willow tree that framed the Washington Monument in the background. I loved all of the variety we were able to achieve with Cameron & Mark’s DC engagement session. It was certainly dreamy!
Congratulations, Cameron & Mark! I look forward to capturing your special day next summer at Historic Oatlands. I know it will be epic!
