What a wedding weekend! This past Sunday I had the great pleasure of wrapping up my month of October with Alice & Eddie at The Market at Grelen. There were so many things that I loved about this wedding, but most of all I loved Alice & Eddie’s story. Alice & Eddie are both firefighters where they happened to meet at the station & fell in love. To tie in with the theme of their love story, these two had a grand exit that was perfectly fitting! This was my first time visiting The Market at Grelen, & I just fell in love with this Somerset wedding venue. I could understand why Alice & Eddie chose this wedding venue especially for this time of year. With a gorgeous view of the valleys & mountains it made the most beautiful backdrop for portraits. Not to mention, The Market of Grelen is quite charming itself with it’s rustic decor, outdoor buildings, & one of the most impressive reception tents I’ve ever seen. With a high tented ceiling & windows covering all sides, this reception space certainly made a statement. The way the sunset fell just behind the reception space provided a romantic glow as family & guests made their way inside. It was simply dreamy!

Putting the venue aside, Alice & Eddie were such a joy to capture. Their day was filled with so many memories including the sweetest first look with Dad. For some reason, the first looks with Dad always seem to get me even more than the first looks with the couple. There’s just something about that Daddy/Daughter relationship. Once it came time for the first look with Alice & Eddie, it was simply the cutest as Eddie unexpectedly got teary eyed as they initially greeted one another. Eddie’s face said it all as he turned around to see Alice for the first time. I never tire of capturing these tender moments. As much as I love the beautiful portraits, I absolutely love capturing the authentic emotion that goes on full display when these moments are shared. This is why I do what I do, & it is truly an honor every single time I am able to document my couple’s special day.
