When Rachael and Christian reached out to me for their maternity session at Historic Oatlands, I couldn’t have been more thrilled. It’s been almost two years since I captured their wedding at Great Marsh Estate, and now they’re expecting a baby girl in June—such exciting news! It’s always an honor to continue documenting my couples’ journeys beyond their wedding day, and reconnecting with Rachael and Christian for their Great Marsh Estate maternity session was like catching up with old friends.

A Perfect Setting at Historic Oatlands

The Historic Oatlands in Leesburg, VA, was perfect for their maternity shoot. The gardens there are simply stunning, like something out of a fairytale, which felt so fitting since Rachael and Christian have chosen to name their baby girl Dahlia. Seeing them amidst those surroundings, laughing and enjoying each other’s company, made the session even more special. Rachael absolutely glowed during the session, and Christian couldn’t stop smiling. It was a joy to capture their genuine excitement about becoming parents!

As we wrapped up their Historic Oatlands maternity session, I couldn’t help but feel excited for Rachael, Christian, and baby Dahlia. They’re heading into such an incredible journey together, and I’m grateful to be a part of capturing these precious moments for them. I can’t wait to see them again in June and continue documenting their beautiful family story!
