It was a cloudy day, but the rain held off for Leah & Sean’s wedding celebration at the Winery at Bull Run. This was my 2nd wedding to capture for the weekend, and what an amazing way to close out. There was never a dull moment throughout the day. Leah & Sean’s sense of humor kept the party alive, and kept a smile on my face the entire day.
Before heading to the Winery at Bull Run, I stopped by Leah’s parent’s home first. This was where Leah wanted to have her detail shots captured, and I can clearly see why. As soon as I stepped into the Weiss household, I fell in love with their beautiful home. My eye was immediately drawn to one room in the house which had a beautiful large window, ceiling to floor curtains, and just to top it off a beautiful chandelier. This room was MADE for shooting bridal details! Can I just pick this room up & move it in the future? It’s safe to say that this setting was a dream, and the girls even had some music playing loud on the speakers for me. I was definitely in my element 😉
Before the ceremony, Leah & Sean decided to take part in a “First Look.” Since the Winery at Bull Run was rather crowded that day, we decided to have their portraits taken next door at the Manassas Battlefields. This was a beautiful location, yet a tricky one. In order to get to a more private location and one with the prettiest backdrop, it required a little “work”. What I did not realize was how rough the terrain was, or the fact that there were thorns & possibly small patches of poison ivy on the ground- yikes! I have to say the wedding party (especially the ladies) were such great sports through all of it, even though their dresses kept getting caught on the thorns. It definitely did not go as smooth as I had planned, but I can assure you this isn’t how it usually goes! I felt terrible, but luckily this crew worked through it with a smile & as a result had the most beautiful wedding party photos! I’d like to think it was all worth it? Yea? 😉 On a side note, I just have to say thank you to everyone in the wedding party for trusting my vision on this one. You guys rock.
It was crunch time, and we were headed back to the venue for the start of the ceremony. The sun was just starting to peek out from the clouds which made for a beautiful sunset ceremony. Leah was escorted down by her father, & I loved the pure joy that was displayed on both of their faces. It was a beautiful ceremony. Some parts were even comical when it came time for the best man, Conor, to hand over the rings. Apparently the rings slipped down so deep in his coat pocket that he couldn’t find them, lol. Sean then pointed at him as if he was being scolded while the guests responded with laughter. Once Leah & Sean were pronounced husband and wife, Sean grabbed Leah and laid a kiss on her as if he couldn’t wait to kiss his wife.
Leah & Sean, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your special day. I had such a blast getting to know you. I hope you have an amazing honeymoon in Sweden, & I wish you the best as husband and wife!
