We had such a fun time during Jessica & Brad’s engagement session this past weekend! After weeks of going back and forth trying to nail down a location, Jessica discovered Pearmund Cellars out of Broad Run, VA. I never knew this vineyard even existed, & it may have just become one of my new favorite locations for photo sessions. While asking the owners if it was alright to use their grounds for photos (since some places are pickier than others), their response was “Sure! As long as you purchase a bottle of wine.” Score! 🙂
As soon as I arrived Jessica & Brad took advantage of that opportunity, lol. I found them sitting on the picnic table near the beautiful willow tree sipping on a glass of wine. Seriously you guys, if you haven’t been to this vineyard be sure to check it out- It is simply gorgeous! We immediately started chatting about how the wedding plans were going, while also sharing some common interests of ours which involved boating & spending our summers on the lake. You see, Jessica & Brad are getting married at Emery Point on Lake Anna next summer. With that being said, you can only imagine my excitement when Jessica inquired for me to capture their wedding. For those of you who don’t know, I am obsessed with the “lake life” once summer rolls around. I spent every summer boating on the lake as a kid growing up. Needless to say, I will definitely be even more in my element come June 17th next year! What more could I ask for? A camera in my hand, photographing someone’s love story, ON the lake. Yes please!
I absolutely adored this couple from the very beginning of our session. Jessica & Brad had such a warm & genuine demeanor about them from the moment I arrived. Not to mention, they were also sweet enough to buy me a bottle of wine for coming out to do their engagement session! How in the world do I get blessed with such amazing clients? In those in-between moments, we had so much fun just talking & laughing with each other which also resulted in them feeling comfortable enough to be the same way with each other in front of the camera. While walking the grounds, we found a very unexpected surprise which resulted in some of my favorite photos from the session…a tree swing! And not just your typical tree swing. It was more like a regular sized porch swing. Between the swing, the small foot bridge, the silo with the tree coming out of the top of it, the willow tree, the vines, & the picturesque scenery…this place had it all.
Jessica & Brad, thank you so much for allowing me to capture your engagement photos (and for the bottle of wine!). I hope you enjoy looking through some of my favorite photos from the day. Enjoy! 🙂
