Let's connect!

After taking a little break from my photography this summer due to my family’s big move, it felt so good to pick my camera back up again to capture Alex & Scott’s engagement session! What a fun couple to photograph at an absolutely stunning location. Alex & Scott’s playful chemistry was off the charts, & it made my time with them so much fun. I can only imagine how amazing their big day is going to be in February of 2020!

Alex just happened to be a bridesmaid in a wedding that I captured back in June for some dear clients of mine- if you’re reading this, you know who you are! πŸ˜‰ I was so excited when she reached out to me in regards to her very own wedding! When it came time to discuss setting up their engagement session, Alex & Scott knew exactly where they wanted their session to take place. It turns out that Scott’s family owns an orchard in the immediate area. However, it wasn’t like just any other orchard. This particular orchard had the most beautiful views of the valley, & bonus points because we had the entire orchard to ourselves!

Driving out to their session, it was the most beautiful golden light. However when we arrived at the orchard, a huge stubborn rain cloud decided to linger upon us blocking out that magical light. I will say that the clouds made a great backdrop for some of the shots, but by the time Alex & Scott changed into their 2nd outfits that magical light returned. It was the perfect light that I strive to get out of every portrait session. Absolute perfection.

Again, the one thing that I loved about Alex & Scott was their playful nature. Despite the little silly cues that I had them do throughout their session, they trusted my vision & made sure to have fun in the process. It was such a blast cutting up with these two, & I know their wedding day will be the same.

Also, thank you Alex & Scott for sending me home with a handful of peaches πŸ™‚

As a Virginia & DC wedding photographer, I think it’s safe to say that 2020 has been quite the year for wedding couples & the entire wedding industry. My wedding season launched in February, but little did I know that would be my last wedding that I would capture until August. Ashley & Ryan found […]

The fun has begun, & it’s time to party! Your wedding reception should be a blast, & the last thing you need to be worrying about is your timeline. It’s been a busy week of sessions, & I have been loving every single minute of it. Not to mention, I had the opportunity to photograph in one of my favorite charming locations- downtown Alexandria. Except this time I had the leisure of switching things up a bit by capturing a maternity session for a […]

I had such a wonderful time meeting up with Kelly & John for their engagement session at Oatlands Plantation this past weekend. It’s safe to say that the weather was much warmer than we would have liked, but Kelly & John made the absolute best of the situation. You would never guess that it was […]
