I simply cannot get enough of Skylar & Ben’s engagement session at Mary Baldwin University. Skylar reached out to me due to one of my amazing brides recommending her to me. Skylar & Ben are still in the process of locking in their wedding date, but she couldn’t wait to have their engagement photos taken! After playing email tag we secured a date & location for their engagement session. Everything came together so perfectly & I couldn’t be more excited to share some of my favorite images with you from their session!

We went back and forth when it came to deciding upon a location. We knew the kind of atmosphere that Skylar & Ben were looking for, but it was tough to find something that was relatively close by. Ironically enough, Skylar & Ben went for a walk in their neighborhood one evening & discovered the campus of Mary Baldwin University (practically in their back yard!). They instantly fell in love with the campus & even scoped out some of their favorite spots to use for portraits ahead of time. With it still being early August, the campus was empty & we had the grounds all to ourselves. It was the perfect spot for Skylar & Ben’s engagement session which provided plenty of greenery, picturesque pathways, & architectural buildings that added that classic & romantic vibe for their portraits. You know what was even better? They had their engagement session done on their 1 year anniversary of dating! I also learned that Skylar & Ben were so nervous on their first date, that when they went out to eat they didn’t even have an appetite. This resulted in them placing an order for one large french frie, just to have each of them eat ONE french frie. This ended up being something cute that they plan to implement every year on their anniversary. Too bad we didn’t have any french fries for their engagement session!

Skylar & Ben made my “job” so easy….they came dressed to kill & their chemistry was off the charts. Might I also add that their engagement session concluded with the most gorgeous glowy light! These two certainly showed off in front of the camera this past weekend, & I was loving every minute of it-such a beautiful couple!
