June has been full of beautiful weddings for my 2022 wedding season & I could not think of a better way to wrap up this month by celebrating with Cameron & Mark for their special day at Oatlands Historic House & Gardens. I have visited Oatlands in the past to capture portrait sessions, but I was excited to return this time to capture a wedding. This gorgeous venue offers so much with every twist & turn, it’s no wonder why these two decided to celebrate at Oatlands. With picturesque gardens & a mansion for a bridal suite it is simply every bride’s dream.
If I could describe Cameron & Mark’s Oatlands wedding it would be classy & sophisticated. In addition to loving this wedding for it’s gorgeous decor, there were also many other elements that made this wedding truly special & unique. To start Cameron had a custom dress made to change into at the reception. So, why was this custom dress so special? Cameron had pieces of her mother’s wedding dress cut to create a new dress for her to dance in at the reception…and YOU GUYS- this dress was something like Audrey Hepburn. I was obsessed with this dress. Not only was it beautiful, but the way that it flared on the dance floor was simply everything.
It came time for the First Look with Cameron’s Dad. Can I just say that sometimes the First Looks with Dad get me more emotional than the First Look with the groom? This was one of those moments. Cameron’s dad’s reaction was priceless. When she presented him with a gift he opened it, put his hand up to his face & started to cry. He immediately looked at Cameron and said “Ok, now that was mean” & immediately started laughing as they embraced. I was so thankful that CY Weddings was present to capture this beautiful moment on video!
Cameron & Mark exchanged vows in the formal gardens amongst their closest family & friends. They then celebrated under a large white tent that was decorated with white linens, white florals, greenery & baby’s breath. It was truly a classic wedding that was tugging on my heart strings. Once they were introduced into the reception Cameron & Mark shared one of the best choreographed first dances I had every captured. Cameron floated across the dance floor & these two shared a romantic first dance that had everyone captivated. I was amazed at how easy these two made it look when Mark surprisingly lifted Cameron into the air for the grand finale. After speeches & dinner was served, this dance floor was hopping as “The A-Town-A-List” put on an amazing show & kept the energy alive. This talented band traveled all the way from Georgia! Needless to say Cameron & Mark’s wedding was a day full of love, excitement, & surprises. It was truly an honor to be a part of it all.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Landis!
