Emily and Jeffrey met through Instagram back in 2019. Emily had just moved to Virginia, and Jeffrey was from out of state as well—both navigating a new place and season of life. She came across one of Jeffrey’s Instagram posts from a photography project through a local geotag, and that simple discovery turned into something much more.

They began following each other, and eventually, Jeffrey reached out to collaborate—two creatives wanting to explore their new city and take photos together.

Crockett Park provided the most beautiful backdrop for their engagement session. With its open fields, gentle hills, and expansive views, it’s one of my favorite locations for engagement photos in Virginia—especially during golden hour.

The light that evening was soft and glowing, wrapping around them in a way that felt almost cinematic. As they walked hand-in-hand, laughed together, and simply enjoyed being present with each other, it was clear just how natural their connection is.

Nothing felt forced. Nothing felt overly posed.

Just genuine joy and a steady, easy kind of love.
