This past weekend I had the great pleasure of celebrating Elsie & Teddy’s wedding at the Park Hyatt in Washington, D.C. It doesn’t feel like too long ago that we captured their sunrise DC engagement session at the Lincoln Memorial (if you want to view Elsie & Teddy’s engagement session, click here!) Except this time instead of having freezing temperatures, we had a beautiful, clear September day. I would say it was a perfect day for a wedding in our nation’s capital, & one that was full of sophistication & charm.
Elsie made such a classic bride. I’m not sure how she trekked in her Manolo Blahnik wedding heels across Washington D.C. the entire day, but she did it with ease. I do have to admit that I was obsessing over Elsie’s Manolo Blahnik heels, which were just one of the many bridal details that I loved. Elsie’s bridal style was sophisticated & classic. I could have captured bridal portraits of her in the bridal suite all day.
It came time for Elsie & Teddy’s first look. There was the perfect location just outside the Park Hyatt beyond the double doors. Just after the big reveal, both Elsie & Teddy were teary eyed as they wiped each other’s tears from their faces. It was an intimate moment shared between just the two of them. Just after the first look, we managed to capture some gorgeous Bride & Groom portraits before we were headed to the Georgetown Waterfront to continue with our portrait time. Special thanks to Chariots for Hire for transporting us around Washington D.C.! It’s always a stress reliever when you don’t have to worry about finding parking in our nation’s capital 😉
After Elsie & Teddy’s intimate wedding ceremony, the party kicked off in full swing. These two had a celebration exit as they exited the church, & we managed to capture a little more portraits before heading to cocktail hour. Elsie & Teddy had an awesome party to wrap up their night, where they visited each of their tables to make toasts & capture photos with their guests. It was such a generous sentiment that was a joy for me to be able to witness & capture. The dance floor was packed & alive as guests partied into the night. I think it’s safe to say that there wasn’t a dull moment at Elsie & Teddy’s DC wedding this past weekend. It was truly an honor celebrating with them, as well as with their family & friends.
Congratulations, Mr. & Mrs. Faulk!
