There is nothing like photographing couples in love during the fall season. I am still swooning over Emily & Derek’s fall engagement session at Belle Grove Plantation in Middletown, VA. We had the most beautiful day, paired with the gorgeous fall colors & the most perfect lighting conditions. If you ever wonder why photographers schedule their portrait time around “golden hour” this engagement session is the perfect example to show you why. Helloooo dreamy light!

Emily & Derek were simply so sweet together. I just adored capturing this adorable couple at Belle Grove Plantation, as the grounds were quite charming itself. Emily & Derek’s engagement session flowed so naturally as their chemistry unfolded, & my camera was soaking it all up! I was so excited as I was seeing the magic we were creating in front of the lens. There were so many picturesque spots at Belle Grove Plantation I could have kept Emily & Derek there all evening. Just how adorable are these two anyway?

Towards the end of Emily & Derek’s session at Belle Grove Plantation, I knew the perfect spot where I wanted to wrap up. As we drove down the road towards the entrance we parked off the side of the road where it sits up on a hill. You get the most beautiful view of the countryside, & the sun was setting just perfectly to provide us with that romantic glow. I was so glad that we decided to hit this last location before wrapping up our time together! As if we didn’t create enough magic before, the end of Emily & Derek’s engagement session was just the icing on the cake. I couldn’t have been more thankful for the conditions that we had, & of course for my amazing couple!

Congratulations, Emily & Derek! I am so excited to celebrate with you next year at Keswick Vineyards. Hopefully we have more golden light to work with come your wedding day 😉
